A New ‘Pokemon Go’ Special Event Is About To Start In January 2019 With Special Bonuses And More
Hey, Pokemon Go fans. We’ve got some spectacular news for you guys today. It turns out that your favorite video game is about to host another huge event in January 2019! It’s going to feature the last Gen 2 starter Pokemon: Totodile, extra bonuses and more!
The event we’re talking about is the Community Day event. According to the folks over at Gamespot.com, the next Community Day event is currently scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, January 12, 2019. So, be sure to mark that important date down on your video game calendars.
Gamespot also revealed that throughout the event, the Totodile will spawn much more frequently in the wild than it normally does. Pokemon’s developer Niantic has yet to confirm whether or not players will have the opportunity to find the Totodile during the event. However, it’s speculated that they will.
Gamespot also noted that if a player is able to evolve Totodile into its final form, Feraligatr, up to an hour after the Community Day ends, the Pokemon will know a special event-exclusive move that it wouldn’t typically be able to learn. Currently, no official details have been revealed as to what this special move might be. However, it’s expected to be announced before the Community Day event starts.
As for the bonuses that will be introduced at Community Day, Gamespot mentioned that the incubators will be four times as effective as normal. This will allow players to hatch eggs at a quarter of the distance they would typically require. In addition to that, Lure modules will stay active for a long three hours as opposed to their regular time of about 30 minutes.
The Community Day event is currently scheduled to only last for about three hours, and it’s actually going to start at different times in different parts of the world. Gamespot revealed the schedule for each part of the world.
In the Americas and Greenland, the event will start at 11 AM to 2 PM Pacific Standard Time and 2 PM to 5 PM Eastern Standard time. In the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions of the world, the event will start at 10 AM to 1 PM UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Lastly, in the Asia-Pacific regions of the world, the event will start at 12 PM to 3 PM Japan Standard Time.
In related news, Pokemon Go is currently running it’s special holiday event. It’s featuring new Gen 4 Pokemon like: Bronzor, Snover, and Skorupi. Niantic is also offering different bonuses during the event every couple of days until it ends on January 2, 2019. Also, a new Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon named Heatran has started showing up in Raid Battles all around the world!
