‘When In Rome’ Movie Delivered Lots Of Laughs & Weird Love Spells
‘When In Rome’ movie delivered lots of laughs & weird love spells. Touchstone Picture’s new comedy, “When In Rome” hit theaters yesterday, which stars one of my favorite actresses, Kristen Bell. I just saw it today. It had a lot of funny moments that were mostly spawned from a weird love spell plot that was thrown in the mix. It also stars: Josh Duhamel, Will Arnett, Alexis Dziena, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Kate Micucci, Bobby Moynihan, Danny DeVito, and Anjelica Huston .
“When In Rome” revolved around character, Beth (Kristen Bell) who resides in New York and works in the arts field as a coordinator. She eventually flies to Rome to be there for her little sister’s wedding to a man she just met two weeks ago. Beth is very skeptical and pessimistic on the whole idea of marriage, but wants to be there for her sister. While there, she meets a funny, charming guy named Nick (Josh Duhamel). They hit it off from the start, but then Beth gets disappointed by Nick later on that night, which sends her to a supposedly magic, love wishing fountain.
She ends up taking a couple of the coins out,and they apparently cast a love spell on the guys who originally through them in. So, throughout the rest of the movie, these guys are chasing her around New York while she eventually hooks back up with Nick. She mistakenly thinks one of the coins she took was Nicks so she doesn’t let herself fall in love with him, thinking he’s under the weird love spell. She eventually finds a way to end the supposed love spell, and finds her own love, but not without going through a bunch of funny moments like: riding in a small fisher price looking car through the city of New York, telling a magician with a crush wearing a mummy suit to get the hell out of her apartment, and running from a painter who’s infatuated with painting a picture of her feet. It was very funny. They also reunited two of the members from the “Napoleon Dynamite” movie for some funny moments.
Overall, I thought the movie was very funny and entertaining and Kristen Bell was gorgeous. I have a crush on her. I liked Dax Shepard he was always funny on MTV’s Punk’d show with Ashton Kutcher, and brought that same humor to this movie. I wasn’t too fond of the weird love spell thing, but the comedy made up for it.
