New ‘Hereafter’ Movie Delivered Matt Damon,Lots Of Emotion & More
New ‘Hereafter’ movie delivered Matt Damon, lots of emotion & more. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new supernatural/drama,Matt Damon branded flick “Hereafter” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was ok for what it was. It delivered a lot of emotions, drama, and a pretty good story line. The movie stars: Matt Damon, Cecile de France, Frankie McLaren, George McLaren, Jay Mohr, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
“Hereafter” movie revolved around character George Lonegan (Matt Damon) who is a retired psychic that used to have a website and thriving business. However,he gave it up because he felt that his psychic gifts were a curse and kept him from having a normal life. Now, he works in a factory and is happy. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world, a little boy named Marcus loses his twin brother to a car accident. A French reporter experiences death for a few minutes via a huge tsunami.
George also scares off possible girlfriend character named Melanie (Bryce Dallas Howard) with his psychic abilities after she begs him to read her. Eventually, situations fall into place that causes George to meet the French reporter lady at a book signing and the little boy Marcus who seeks him out so he can speak with his dead brother again.
The movie provided some very intense emotional moments, especially with the little Marcus boy. It concluded with a very happy ending for George. I thought the movie was pretty good. I’m more of an action film watcher, but I liked the supernatural elements in this film, along with the intense drama. It moved along at very slow, steady pace with lots of detail.
Comedian Jay Mohr did a good job as character Billy who was the older brother of George that constantly kept pushing him to get back into the psychic business. Overall, I thought the movie was pretty entertaining, but the slow pace of the film had me dosing off at times. I gave it a B-. “Hereafter” movie is in theaters now.
