New ‘Sherlock Holmes 2’ movie delivered lots of action,drama & extreme boredom. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new action/mystery flick “Sherlock Holmes 2: Game Of Shadows” into theaters this weekend. I just got done checking it out,and I gotta say, I’ve never seen a movie filled with so much action and drama,be so extremely boring at the same time.
I must have dozed off more than a dozen times,watching this thing. I also dozed off,during the first Sherlock film. These Sherlock Holmes movies just don’t do it for me. It stars: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry,and Rachel McAdams.
The new flick featured a new criminal mastermind at large,named Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) ,and he was Holmes intellectual equal. However,his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, gave him a bit of an advantage over Holmes.
The Crown Prince of Austria,all of a sudden is found dead. The evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade,pointed to suicide,but Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince was a victim of murder,a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. Moriarty always seemed to be one step ahead of Holmes as he spun a web of death and destruction,which was all part of a bigger plan that could’ve changed history.
Sherlock and Watson teamed up,again,to get in a whole heap of trouble that included, gun fights on a train,a bomb blowing a train in half,Holmes getting in major fights,and more. It definitely featured a lot more action than the first one,but I just could not get into this film.
The dialogue scenes and characters just didn’t interest me at all,so I didn’t really care what happen to any of these people when the action went down. I find the characters in this film to just be so dull and uninteresting. I would’ve walked out if I didn’t have to review the damn thing. I’m sure there are probably many people who like Sherlock Holmes,but it is definitely not my cup of tea.
I knew I shouldn’t have gone to see it after seeing how boring the first one was. I definitely will not go see a 3rd one if they ever make it.Ugh. I gave it a bad C- grade. Any movie that causes me to doze off that much,is going to get a bad grade,because I can usually get into most movies,even some cheesy ones.
I genuinely try to get into every movie I watch,but this one had me sleeping like a baby.I look forward to seeing Robert Downey Jr. in Ironman and the Avengers,but not this Sherlock Holmes crap. Ugh.
