New 60 Minutes April 30, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. We are back at you on this Sunday afternoon to let you guys know that CBS will be serving up another new episode of 60 Minutes tonight, April 30, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 32nd one of 60 Minutes’ current season 55, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.
CBS served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, April 30, 2023 edition. So, that’s what we’ll be taking a look at for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
The first description for tonight’s new, April 30, 2023 episode reveals that the 60 Minutes team is going to do a segment titled, “THE DOMINO EFFECT.” In it, American journalist Sharyn Alfonsi is going to report on a maternal health crisis that’s currently going on in the United States.
Apparently, women in the USA are twice as likely to die from a pregnancy ,these days, than they were a generation ago. Sharyn Alfonsi is going to take a trip to Louisiana because Louisiana has some of the country’s highest maternal mortality rates, and women there are also dealing with new maternal care hurdles from the state’s ban on abortion.
CBS’ official description for this, “The Domino Effect” segment reads like this, “The United States is in the middle of a maternal health crisis – a woman in the U.S. is twice as likely to die from pregnancy today than her mother was a generation ago.
Sharyn Alfonsi reports on the country’s troubling state of maternal healthcare and visits Louisiana, where women already facing some of the country’s highest maternal mortality rates are dealing with new maternal care hurdles imposed by the state’s abortion ban. Ashley Velie is the producer.”
The second description reveals that 60 Minutes will do a segment titled, “OUT OF THIN AIR.” In it, the 60 Minutes team will report on how severe the heat-trapping effects of carbon dioxide have become. Apparently, they’re more severe than previously thought.
American Journalist Bill Whitaker is going to take a trip to Iceland to report on a first commercial direct air capture plant that is currently in operation. Apparently, this plant has equipment that can vacuum carbon dioxide out of thin air and lock it way deep underground somewhere.
CBS’ description for this, “Out of Thin Air” segment reads like this, “According to a 2023 UN climate report, the heat-trapping effects of carbon dioxide are more severe than anyone expected, as oil and gas emissions reached record highs.
Bill Whitaker travels to Iceland to see the world’s first commercial direct air capture plant in operation, a potential climate solution that vacuums carbon dioxide out of thin air and locks it away deep underground. Can this new industry grow fast enough to avoid a climate catastrophe? Heather Abbott is the producer.”
The 3rd and final description for tonight’s new, April 30, 2023 episode lets us know that the 60 minutes team will do a segment titled, “AN AMERICAN DOWN UNDER.” In it, journalist Jon Wertheim is going to report on a man named Mason Cox who is the only American player in the Australian rules football league. He’s almost 7 feet tall and grew up in Texas with no knowledge of the game. Now, he’s become an Australian celebrity by totally mastering the game and playing for the Collingwood Magpies.
CBS’ description for the “An American Down Under” segment reads like this, “Correspondent Jon Wertheim reports on the unlikely star of Australian rules football, and only American in the league, Mason Cox. Standing at nearly seven feet, Cox grew up in Texas with no knowledge of the sport of footy, but has quickly become an Aussie celebrity as he’s mastered the game as a player for the storied Collingwood Magpies. Jacqueline Williams is the producer.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that 60 Minutes is brand new again tonight, April 30, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit the air at approximately 6 pm central standard time.
