Tough As Nails July 14, 2023 Eliminated Marcus Jones From Individual Competitions (Recap)

Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight, July 14, 2023, another new episode for Tough As Nails’ current season 5 did indeed hit the air, and another unlucky contestant lost their place in the individual competitions at the very end of it.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with host Phil Keoghan showing up to give the contestants another team challenge. In this one, they had to load up as many bushels of apples as they could onto a truck while running through an apple field. The team that collected the highest weight of apples at the end, won. Season 3 winner Lia Mort showed up to greet the contestants before this challenge started.

Cheryl was chosen to be crew boss for Dirty hands for this competition, and Dustin was chosen to be crew boss for the Savage Crew team. During this challenge, the Savage crew team ran into issues with getting separated from each other. Paul got really tired.

When it was all said and done, the Dirty Hands team beat the Savage Crew team by a large margin. They collected 5,984 pounds of apples over Savage Crew’s 4,875 pounds of apples. So, Dirty Hands claimed the victory to go up 3-2 in team competition wins. They also won $12,000 dollars for winning this competition.

Afterwards, some heavy drama took place with Akeela and Jessica on the Savage Crew team. They got into an argument because Akeela accused Jessica of not giving it her all in the team competition. Jessica swore up and down that she did everything she could to round up as many apples as she could. Akeela said, “I’m sorry, but I don’t believe you.” Jessica started raising her voice saying, “We’ll that’s on you, Akeela.” Akeela said, “Lower your voice when you’re talking to me.” Eventually, Paul got them to settle down, but it was definitely intense.

After all of that, host Phil Keoghan returned to present the individual competition for this episode. During it, they had to stake 30 sapling trees by pounding stakes into the ground until there was no more red part showing on the wood. Then, they had to tie the stakes to the sapling trees to complete this challenge. Cheryl got off to a rough start in this one by turning her ankle and falling. However, she got back up and kept going. Kenji finished this competition first for the win and a $5,000 dollar prize.

Jessica finished in 2nd place. Ben took 3rd place. Todd came in 4th place. Akeela got 5th place. Dustin took 6th place. Paul took the very important 7th spot to narrowly avoid having to do the Overtime challenge.

Marcus and Cherly were the last two. So, they had to do the Overtime challenge to try and stay alive in the individual competitions.

In the Overtime challenge, Cheryl and Marcus had to fill up 4, glass gallon jugs of apple juice by pressing apples in an apple press. Both Cheryl and Marcus ran into issues with the grinder at first. They adjusted by using less apples at a time.

From there, they started flying, getting jugs filled up with apple juice. Ultimately, Cheryl just edged out Marcus for the win when they were both down to their 4th jug. So, Marcus Jones did get eliminated from the individual competitions.

Marcus told the private cams, “I gave it my all. No hard feelings. No sorrows. I’m going to do my best in the team competitions.” How do you guys feel about Marcus Jones getting eliminated from the team competitions in this episode? Let us know in the comments section.
