Tough As Nails July 28, 2023 Eliminated Dustin Bradford From Individual Competitions (Recap)
Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight, July 28, 2023, another new episode of Tough As Nails’ current season 5 did indeed hit the air, and we saw another unlucky contestant lose their shot at being the individual competition champion at the end of it.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the Dirty Hands and Savage Crew teams getting presented their final team challeng of this season for one last shot at winning $12,000 dollars. This challenge consisted of three tasks, and the teammembers went head-to-head against each other in separate heats to complete one of the tasks.
The tasks were: log chop (chop a log in half), log pull (pull a log 100 feet) and wood shaving (shave a piece of wood down enough to fit through an opening). The first team to win 5 hatchets aka points, won the challenge.
Cheryl went up against Carolina in the log chop challenge. Cheryl won to give Dirty hands a hatchet/point to go up 1-0. Yesi went up against Jessica in the log pull challenge. Yesi won to give Dirty Hands another point to go up 2-0.
Akeela went up againt Kenji in the wood shaving challenge. Akeela won to give Savage Crew a point. 2-1. Ben went up against Dustin in a bonus round that required them to do all three tasks for an extra 2 points. Dustin won it to give Savage Crew the bonus 2 points they desperately needed. 2-3.
Paul went up against Carly in the log pull challenge. Carly won to give Dirty hands a point to tie things up 3-3. Todd went up against Marcus in the wood shaving challenge. Todd won to give Dirty Hands a point to go up 4-3.
Ben went up against Dustin in the log chop challenge. Dustin won to give Savage Crew a point to tie things back up 4-4. Carolina went up against Carly in the wood shaving challenge. This was the last and deciding heat, and Carolina won it to give Savage Crew a point and the win at 5-4. They took home the final $12,000 dollars of this season for the team competitions. Carolina was elated to get the win for her team.
Next up, was the individual challenge. In this one, they had to assemble/build a picnic table. The winner got a $9,000 prize. During this comp, they had to build their a-frames first. Then, build the table part. Ben finished first for the win and the $9,000 prize. Jessica took second place. Kenji claimed the very important 3rd spot to narrowly avoid having to do the Overtime challenge.
Dustin and Todd were the last two, so they had to do the Overtime challenge to stay alive in the individual competitions.
In the Overtime challenge, Dustin and Todd had to use a saw mill to cut eight 2x4s and four 8x8s. Dustin ran into a couple of snags that just set him back too far to catch up to Todd. So, Todd pulled out the win to stay alive in the individual competitions, and poor Dustin got eliminated.
