20/20 August 4, 2023 Episode Not New. It’s A Repeat. Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back on here to let you know that ABC will be serving up another episode of 20/20 tonight,August 4, 2023. However, it will not be a new episode. Yep, ABC is going to serve up another repeat episode of 20/20 this week. Some of you guys might not have seen this repeat episode when it originally aired. So, we’re going to serve up a preview session for it.
We were able to get this preview information for tonight’s August 4, 2023 episode from ABC’s press release archives. So, we’re going to pull it up right now. Let’s go.
The first thing right off the bat is the official title for this repeat episode of 20/20. It’s called, “Growing Up Buttafuoco.” It originally aired way, way back on November 8, 2019.
In tonight’s August 4, 2023 repeat episode, the 20/20 team revisted the Buttafuoco story in which Mary Jo Buttafuoco was shot in the face by a teenage girl named Amy fisher way back in 1992. Amy was having an affair with Mary Jo’s husband Joey Buttafuoco.
This episode featured new interviews with Mary Jo and Joey who are now divorced and their only daughter Jessie Buttafuoco. This episode also features never-before-seen family home videos. In these interviews, they talked about their life journey since that horrible day back in 1992.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s August 4, 2023 repeat episode of 20/20 reads like this, “For nearly 30 years, the Buttafuoco family has spent their lives in and out of the spotlight, beginning with that tragic day in May 1992 when Mary Jo Buttafuoco was shot in the face by the teenage girl who was having an affair with her husband, Joey.
Following the shooting, there were years of tabloid stories about the cast of characters. Then, the talk-show circuit, from Phil Donahue to Oprah Winfrey. And later, a TV special in which Mary Jo and Joey Buttafuoco faced off against shooter Amy Fisher.
In new interviews with “20/20,” which also include never-before-seen family home videos, the couple, now divorced, and their only daughter, Jessie Buttafuoco, describe their journey after that fateful day.”
An alternate description tells us, “Mary Jo Buttafuoco, Joey Buttafuoco and their daughter Jessie reflect on their lives following Mary Jo’s shooting in 1992.”
If any of you guys happened to have missed that particular repeat episode of 20/20, you might still want to flip on ABC tonight to check it out. If you did see that repeat episode when it originally aired, and you have no desire whatsoever to watch it again, you will certainly want to skip ABC tonight during that time and get some alternate plans lined up.
Again, it’s been confirmed that 20/20 will be a repeat episode again tonight, August 4,2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV screens, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time on ABC.
