New 60 Minutes December 31, 2023, January 7, 2024 Episodes Delayed. Not Airing
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. Unfortunately, we have some super bad news to drop on you in this article. It turns out that the CBS people have decided not air a new episode of 60 Minutes tonight, December 31, 2023, and next Sunday night, January 7, 2024. That’s right, guys. CBS is going to make you wait another two weeks to see another new episode of 60 Minutes.
We’re sure the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day holiday has to do with the delay tonight, but the delay for next week is a whole different story. We’ll let you know the reason for next week’s delay later on in this article.
First, we want to inform you guys of when you can expect to see the next, new episode of 60 Minutes. That fateful day will land on Sunday night, January 14, 2024, and we assume it will land in its usual, 6 pm central standard time slot on that night. We’ll jump back on here that week with more updated information on that episode. In the meantime, be sure to lock in that very important date and time into your memories.
As for tonight and next Sunday night, we did find out what CBS is airing instead of a new 60 Minutes episode. According to the TV guide listings, CBS is going to provide LIVE coverage of an NFL football game in the 6 pm central standard time slot. It looks like that game will be trying to wrap up at that time because TV guide is telling us that CBS plans to air a LIVE New Year’s Eve special in the 6:30 pm central standard time slot tonight.
CBS’ official description for their LIVE, NFL Football game coverage reads like this, “NFL Football, Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs LIVE. The Chiefs host the Bengals. Cincinnati’s three-game run ended Dec. 23 as it lost at rival Pittsburgh and fell to 10th in the AFC. Kansas City’s hopes of securing the No. 1 seed and a bye were dashed after a shock loss to Las Vegas on Christmas Day.”
CBS’ official description for their LIVE New Year’s Eve special coverage reads like this,”New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash LIVE. Celebrating the new year with country music superstars. Elle King and Rachel Smith host.”
Then, next Sunday night, January 7, 2024, CBS is going to provide LIVE coverage for another NFL football game in that 6 pm central standard time slot. Again, that game will be wrapping up at that time because TV guide is telling us that CBS plans to air something else in the 6:30 pm central time slot that’s yet to be announced. Then, they will go on to provide LIVE coverage of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards from 7 pm to 10 pm central standard time.

If any of you guys find any of this alternate line of programming to be enticing at all, you might still want to flip on CBS tonight and next Sunday night during that time. If you’re only interested in seeing brand new episodes of 60 Minutes, you will certainly want to make some other plans for tonight and next Sunday night at your earliest convenience.
Again, it’s been confirmed that the next, new episode of 60 Minutes is scheduled to finally show up on your TV sets on Sunday night, January 14, 2024 in its usual, 6 pm central standard time slot.
