‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ Movie Delivered Scary,Suspenseful Scenes
‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ movie delivered scary, suspenseful scenes. New Line Cinema released their horror remake flick, “A Nightmare On Elm Street” this weekend, and I must say that it really delivered on the suspense. The scenes were obviously frightening enough, but it’s the suspense, the build-up,the way that they were delivered, that had me wanting to turn my head. The movie stars: Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy, and Connie Britton.
“A Nightmare On Elm Street” revolved mostly around characters Quentin O’Grady (Kyle Gallner) and Nancy Holbrook (Rooney Mara). The two of them were apart of a group of pre-school kids that were abused by character Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) before he died a fiery death by the townspeople after the kids started revealing what Freddy had been doing to them. Now, Freddy started returning in the dreams of the people who were in that same pre-school class, killing them off, one by one. And unless Quentin and Nancy find a way to stop him within 72 hours, they were next. Because after 72 hours, the brain starts to shutdown on its own,and they’re forced to dream. To dream about dear old Freddy who wants to remind them of the good ole days, but with a deadly twist,of course.
The movie contained some gory killing scenes that included: a girl being tossed around her room before getting sliced through her chest with the classic Freddy bladed hand, and character Dean Russell played by Twilight’s Kellan Lutz was forced to slice his own throat by Freddy. You know, stuff like that. A lot of slicing and dicing. However, it had a great thrilling end, which I had never seen in any of the “Nightmare On Elm Street” movies before. Despite some of the critics mediocre reviews, I thought the movie was pretty good. It was never boring, and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next.
