New Big Brother Season 20 Major, Official Twists Revealed By CBS And The Producers
Hey, fellow Big Brother fans. It’s that time of the year again, and as promised an official new twist for the new Big Brother season 20 has been revealed! According to a new report from the folks over at Entertainment Weekly, CBS has revealed that the June 27, 2018 premiere episode is going to feature three different challenges that will end up awarding a game-changing power and two unprecedented punishments!
Then on the Sunday, July 1, 2018 episode, the producers are going to interject a new tech theme twist which is being labeled as the “BB App Store.” This store will allow the viewing audience the opportunity to get the houseguests trending, resulting in power apps or punishments that could crash their game!
So, it sounds like they will be introducing a new way to get the viewing audience involved in voting to some capacity. I already don’t like it. I wish they would just let the houseguests play the game without all these crazy twists. I wish the producers would realize that the game and good houseguests really is just enough to make a great season.
Anyways, with that said, it looks like we are going to get another weird twist on things again this season. The only thing we can hope for is that it won’t effect the game play too much.
The folks over at The Hollywood Reporter also did an article on this new Big Brother season 20 twist. They got to speak with executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan about it.
They explained, “Big Brother has always been about innovation, and this season, technology, interactivity and powerful upgrades will give a charge to the houseguests’ game. This house is bound to inspire some state-of-the-art strategies, forcing the players to make inspired decisions and form collaborative relationships if they hope to advance through the summer!”
In addition to those comments from the producers, they also talked about these big competitions that will be introduced during the premiere episode which is pre-taped. They say the houseguests will have to make some quick decisions when they get thrown into three competitions that are going to deliver game-changing power and two unprecedented punishments.
They go on to say that these three big comps will be in addition to the traditional HOH competition. They commented more on the “BB App Store” tech theme, explaining that America will indeed get a chance to get the houseguests trending in order to award them “powers” or “punishments.”
The Cartermatt.com people got a chance to interview host Julie Chen about the new 20th season, and she revealed some very interesting things that will be taking place.
She revealed that since it is the 20th season, we will be seeing houseguests from all the first 19 seasons showing up! She told them, “And because of it being the 20th anniversary, we’re going to see houseguests from all 19 previous seasons throughout the season, and memorable moments from past seasons will be folded into the show. You’ll see how.”
Lastly, Julie confirmed with them that she plans on hosting Big Brother essentially as long as it’s on the air. They asked her, “Looking far ahead, is hosting this show something you still imagine doing five years from now?” Julie replied with, “Twenty years from now! I can’t let the show go on without me being a part of it. I was there since season 1!”
