Alright, now that we got all of that out of the way, let’s jump right into this. The folks over at TVLine.com, recently posted another one of their spoiler chat sessions and revealed a little bit of what this interesting, new episode will feature in early 2019.

One of their readers named Jasmine asked them the following question: “Any scoop on when we will be seeing Alex and Jo’s family members on Grey’s Anatomy?” Matt Webb Mitovich ,who is the editor-in-chief over there, answered the question. He revealed that we could possibly see Jo’s parents arrive in early 2019. Not only that, Matt revealed that this special episode is “special” because it’s going to be the first-ever Grey’s Anatomy episode not to feature anything about medicine!

That’s right, guys. They will be taking a break from all the medical drama that this show is actually built upon and just do something a little different. Matt pointed out that this episode will mark its 331 episode which break’s ER’s record as the longest-running TV, medical drama. So, congrats to Grey’s Anatomy for that.

Here’s exactly what Matt had to say in response to the reader Jasmine’s question: “Possibly…? Sometime in early 2019, Grey’s Anatomy will breeze past the 331 episode mark and, in doing so, surpass ER as TV’s longest-running medical drama. And sources tell TVLine that Grey’s is planning to quietly, cheekily acknowledge the milestone with a special episode that is — get this — medicine-free. That’s right, the record-shattering outing — to be directed by Chandra Wilson — will feature nary a single medical story line.. Our guess: This will be the long-awaited installment that reunites Jo with her MIA parents, an episode Camilla Luddington first hinted at on Tube Talk.”

So, we’ll see if TV Line’s guess in regards to Jo’s parents turns out to be true. We do know for sure that it will be an episode that is totally taking a break from medicine. That fact alone should be quite interesting.
