Fortnite Season 7’s New Infinity Blade Super Weapon Is Upsetting A Lot Of Players

Hey, Fortnite fans. We’ve got some serious drama news to share with you guys today. As we previously reported, Fortnite introduced it’s new Infinity Blade sword weapon into the game yesterday, December 11, 2018, and it hasn’t taken long for it to make a lot of players hate the living crap out of it!

The Infinity Blade is reportedly giving just too much of an advantage to players that wield it. We told you guys that the sword not only increases attack power, it increases speed, health, shields and regeneration on kills. To be exact, it gives its user 200 health, 200 shield, the ability to leap great distances and to deal 75 damage with each swing.

According to the folks over at Eurogamer.com , the new sword is starting to completely unbalance the game. One of the biggest problems is that the sword was also included in the latest Fortnite seasonal tournament that has a prize money pool of a whopping $1 million dollars!

The sword is reportedly causing a lot of chaos in this tournament. There’s a video of one of the players using the sword to absolutely demolish the competition in one of the North American matches. You guys can view that very video over on Twitch by Clicking Here.

A lot of players had to grind it out for seven or more weeks just to qualify for the tournament. So, they are very furious that this Infinity Blade was added to the game right before the finals began. One irate player posted on Reddit, “Imagine qualifying for a $1,000,000 tournament and dying to this off the bat.”

It’s reported that players are now demanding that the Infinity Blade be given its own Limited Time Mode so that it doesn’t interfere in the regular Battle Royale mode and the competitive tournaments.

Eurogamer.com went on to report that the Infinity Blade is also causing quite a ruckus with regular Fortnite players too. It’s giving some teams in Team Rumble a major advantage depending on which side of the map they spawn on. If your team is given the side of Polar Peak, which is where the sword appears, one player can rack up a huge amount of kills before the other team can wrestle it back.

In related news, they reported another problem with the planes addition. It turns out that some players are using the planes to just fly around in the air with the sole purpose of just trying to stay alive longer. They’re even going as far as to pretend to shoot at each other to pull this off. It’s quite weird and amusing to watch, but obviously, it is not good for people who are really trying to play the game.

Twitter user Ballatw@Ballatw tweeted about this fake plane shooting stuff that’s going on. They wrote,”This is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in a competitive game. There’s like 9 planes all fake shooting each other looking like reavers from firefly. Remove the plane in competitive.#WinterRoyale.” He also included a video of it going on. Digitaltrends.com provided some additional intel about these Infinity Blade complaints. They’re saying many players are arguing that it’s actually breaking the game. One user wrote, “It’s the worst thing Epic has ever added to the game.” Several other commenters agreed with that user.

One user that goes by the name of “Xycik,” said their efforts prior to using the Infinity Blade had largely gone unnoticed. However, now they are receiving “hate” from players who aren’t happy that Xycik won the second heat of the Winter Royale with the blade.

Again, players are also really pissed off that Epic added the new Infinity Blade to the tournament without giving players time to prepare for it.

How do you guys feel about the new Infinity Blade? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Or do you just not care one way or the other? Let us know in the Facebook comments and stay tuned.
