The Amazing Race January 12, 2022 Eliminated Arun & Natalie Kumar (Recap)

Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, January 12, 2022, another new episode of The Amazing Race season 33 did indeed air, and another unlucky team did get eliminated at the end.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with the teams learning that they needed to head to Glasgow, Scotland to get their first clue for this leg of the race. Once they got there, they had to drive a manual transmission car to Glascow’s west end and find Oran Mor to get their next clue.

Akbar & Sheridan and Caro & Ray had a little trouble with this portion of the race. At one point, Ray got mad at Caro for crying and saying, “We’re lost.” Apparently, Ray was trying to keep a positive vibe, and he didn’t like all of the negative energy Caro was putting out.

After the teams reached Oran Mor, they were given a Road Block challenge to complete. During it, they had to join a band, correctly assemble a bag pipe and play a song with it to get their next clue.

After they completed the Road Block challenge, the teams were given instructions to go to the McFarland/Sanderson fountain in Alexandra Park to get their next clue. Once they got there, they ran into their detours for this leg of the race.

They were given the option to do either the Kilt or Rebuilt detour challenge. In the Kilt detour, the teams had to correctly sing and perform a famous song and dance while dressed in a kilt to get their next clue.

In the Rebuilt detour, the teams had to correctly rebuild/refurbish some whiskey barrels to get their next clue.

The team of Arun & Natalie ran into major trouble with the Rebuilt challenge. So, they decided to ditch the Rebuilt detour and go do the Kilt detour instead. That caused them to fall behind into last place. Then, they also faced a little trouble with the Kilt challenge, but they eventually managed to pull it off. Unfortunately, they wasted a lot of time in the process.

After the teams completed their detours, they were told to head to the University of Glasgow, which was the pitstop for this leg of the race. Akbar & Sheri got lost, trying to find the pitstop. However Arun & Natalie also got lost while trying to find the pitstop. So, it was a battle between those two to see who could get unlost the quickest.

Kim & Penn finished in first place, and won a five days and nights trip for two to Cape Cod in Boston, Massachusetts from Travelocity. Ryan and Dusty took second place. Anthony & Spencer claimed 3rd place. Connie & Sam took the 4th spot. Caro & Ray came in 5th. Cayla & Raquel arrived in 6th place. Lulu and Lala took 7th place. Taylor & Isaiah finished in 8th place.

Akbar & Sheri came in the very important 9th spot, which unfortunately means that poor Arun & Natalie came in last. Host, Phil Keoghan did confirm to them that they were indeed eliminated. Apparently, all the time they wasted on the detours and getting lost, trying to find the pit stop was indeed their demise.

After all of that, they closed out the episode by showing how they had to suspend the race because it was actually being filmed at the start of the pandemic in 2020. Then, it showed how they all came back 19 months later to continue the race. So, that was kind of interesting. Anyways, how do you guys feel about Arun & Natalie getting eliminated in this episode? The next, new episode of The Amazing Race season 33 is scheduled to air next Wednesday night, January 19, 2022 at approximately 8 pm central standard time on CBS.
