‘Robin Hood’ Movie Delivered Lots Of Drama,Action & Dialogue
‘Robin Hood’ movie delivered lots of drama, action & dialogue. Universal Pictures released their new version of the action/adventure/drama movie “Robin Hood” this weekend, and the storyline ran a little slow for my taste,it contained a lot of drama and action towards the end,but way too much dialogue for my personal taste. It stars: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Lea Seydoux, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Danny Huston, and Max von Sydow.
Robin Hood revolved around character Robin Longstride aka Robin Hood (Russell Crowe). In the beginning, he was only interested in own self-preservation from his service in King Richard’s army against the French. After King Richard’s death, Robin marched into Nottingham disguised as a knight, and returned the sword of King Richard to his father by request. While there, he met Maid Marion. Nottingham is currently under corruption of a bad sheriff and crippling taxation. Hoping to earn Maid Marion’s love, Robin gathers his gang of lethal men to prey on the indulgent, rich upper class to correct injustices caused by the evil sheriff.
Robin and his men eventually fight for a greater cause when the country is weakened from decades of war and ineffective rule of the new King John. They gather together to help defend the country in what turns out to be an all out war between the English and French armies. The movie showed some impressive archery from Robin and his men,a lot of swords being swung in battle, and Robin swooping in to save the life of Maid Marion. I thought the movie was ok towards the end,but it kinda moved along slow for my taste. I felt myself dozing off to sleep a lot. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open during this one. Luckily, they kept the length of the movie right at two hours. I thought Russell Crowe did a good job as very intense Robin Hood.
