New ‘Man On A Ledge’ movie delivered great drama,action,suspense & more. Summit Entertainment released their new action/thriller flick “Man On A Ledge” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and it turned out to be a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
I mean, I new it would be pretty good,but it really went above and beyond with the action,thrills,suspense,great twists,and more. I thought Sam Worthington did a real good job with this role too. It stars: Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Edward Burns, Titus Welliver, Genesis Rodriguez,and Kyra Sedgwick.
In the flick, officer Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a crime he adamantly believes he didn’t do. One day, his partner Mike Ackerman gets him permission out of jail to attend a funeral under police watch. However,Nick gets in a crazy fight with his brother Joey Cassidy,and gets away.
Little did everyone know, the fight was actually staged,so Nick could actually carry out a more elaborate plan,with Joey’s help,to prove his innocence. Nick was framed by a guy named Englander for stealing a very expensive diamond,and cutting it up into pieces,while on duty. At this point, Nick has made his way to a rooftop of the Roosevelt Hotel,using a fake name to check in.
He’s now posing as a jumper to help keep attention away from his brother and girlfriend,who are breaking into Englander’s jewelry store across the street to steal the diamond in an effort to prove Nick’s innocence. Meanwhile, Nick continues to stay on the roof to put on a good show,while they go to work.
Nick also asked to have famous Detective Lydia Mercer to come up to the building and talk. Mercer and the cops believe Nick is a regular suicide jumper until they run a check on his fingerprints. After they find out he’s really a fugitive,things get pretty hostile.
However, Nick is eventually able to calm Lydia down,and ultimately convince her that he may,indeed,be an innocent man. All the while, Nick’s brother Joey and his girlfriend are still working,and eventually locate the diamond on Englander
They take Englander out to get the diamond. Unfortunately,these things never end that easily. This only sets up for a crazy ,dramatic conclusion that leads to a huge gun shootout,people getting shot,fight scenes,and more.
I really enjoyed watching the film. It offered a lot of high,intense,drama the entire time,along with a great plotline. It also threw in a little comedy here and there.
