New ‘Hunger Games’ Movie Delivered Great Action,Drama & More
New ‘Hunger Games’ movie delivered great action, drama & more. Lionsgate released their new drama/action flick “Hunger Games” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and I thought it was pretty fun to watch as it served up a ton of action and drama as the tributes battled for their lives in the very deadly game.
The movie stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Amandla Stenberg, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.
In the flick, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games, which are twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic. The Hunger Games are also nationally televised, and requires each participant to fight until only one person is left alive.
They randomly drew names for who would compete in the games, and Primrose Everdeen’s name was selected for the girls in District 12. However, her big sis Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) showed great courage and compassion by volunteering, and taking her place in the very deadly event.
Also, character Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson} was selected to fight in the Hunger Games on the men’s side of District 12. Not much talking went on between Katniss and Peeta on their way to the games, but as time progressed, they grew sort of close during the training sessions. Also,Peeta revealed he had a little crush on Katniss at one point, causing their closeness to become even more tight.
Once the Hunger Games began, they were at the point where they started giving each other advice on how to stay alive. Peeta mingled in with the enemy alliance in an attempt to keep Katniss safe by influencing their decisions when they would chase after her. The games were brutal, and many tributes were killed almost immediately. These games were definitely no joke after the starting countdown was over.
During the games,a slight twist in the rules caused Katniss and Peeta to team up for real. Katniss got pretty creative in how she took out other opponents, which was pretty entertaining. It also served up some very sad moments as she had to watch one of her friends die in her arms.
All the action and events led up to a very suspenseful conclusion to the games. I really enjoyed watching the film as it was very fun to watch. Woody Harrelson served up a lot funny stuff as former, drunk, champion Haymitch. I thought Jennifer Lawrence did a good job playing the very intense, compassionate Katniss. I gave the movie a solid B+ grade. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
