New ‘Mama’ Movie Delivered Freaky Thrills,Suspense & More
New ‘Mama’ movie delivered freaky thrills, suspense & more. Universal Pictures released their new horror/thriller flick “Mama” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was extremely entertaining as it served up a ton of suspense and “weird as hell” thrills when Mama ghost got jealous. The movie stars: Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier, and Isabelle Nellsse.
In the new flick, Victoria and Lilly vanished from their suburban neighborhood without a trace. For five years, their Uncle Lucas (and his girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain), searched franticly for them. Eventually, the kids are found alive in a decrepit cabin, and running around like wild animals.
From there, Lucas and Annabel try to wean the kids back into a normal life by moving them into a special house prepared by psychiatrist, Dr. Dreyfuss. Dr. Dreyfuss is extremely obsessed in finding out who this creature is that the girls have been calling, Mama.
Like how these movies usually go, Lucas and Annabel start experiencing strange things going on in the house when they move in with the girls. They hear strange noises at night, along with the kids playing around, and so on and so forth. Lucas finally gets attacked by the evil Mama creature, leaving Annabel to take care of the girls, alone.
Annabel eventually gets close with the girls. Unfortunately,it’s a little too close as their bond has made the Mama ghost very jealous, leading up to a huge conclusion that involves the Mama ghost, attacking Annabel, and trying to take the two girls to where ever the hell she came from. There’s also a lot of fighting that goes down, coupled with a ton of suspense. And I’m still wondering what the hell happened to one of those girls. It was a very odd movie.
Again, i enjoyed watching the film as it never had a boring moment and kept me intrigued throughout the entire run time. It had lots of “edge of your seat” moments that made me jump a few times, because Mama ghost was absolutely hideous-looking. I gave the movie a solid B+ grade. Stay tuned.
