Riverdale Season 2 Betty And Veronica To Fight Over A Secret & More, New Details
As previously reported, a lot of new Riverdale season 2 intel was revealed at the recent 2017 Comic-Con event in San Diego,California. In this particular article, we’re going to talk about some tensions that will reportedly take place between Betty and Veronica.
This so-called tension is supposed to start up in the 5th episode of season 2 which is titled, “ Chapter Eighteen: When A Stranger Calls.” At the event, Camila Mendes who plays Veronica said there’s going to be a conflict between Betty and Veronica. It’s going to come from a place of love and protection. However, Betty is going to be holding on to a secret that she just can’t share with Veronica. So, it sounds like this will be what causes their tensions to rise.
Betty’s portrayer Lili Reinhart chimed in to say that Betty will be very much involved in the thick of a new mystery that she can’t currently discuss. The mystery will be extremely difficult. Lili went on to tease that Betty’s speech in the season 1 finale inspired this new mystery for season 2. Lili said that Betty is going to really be raw and broken in season 2 stating, “Betty’s really pushed to her limits in season 2 and you see a whole new side, like a broken down very raw, just broken girl.”
Lili went on to say that season 2 is going to explore Betty’s darkside a lot more. She will come to terms with it as opposed to covering it up with a black wig. The producer of the show Aguirre-Sacasa chimed in to say that Betty is going to definitely loosen her ponytail a little more. Lili said that Betty is going to find comfort in every character, but we’re going to see more of her and Archie’s friendship and support system.
Lastly, they discussed Betty and Jughead’s relationship. As previously reported, they’ve hired actress Vanessa Morgan to come on and play character Toni Topaz. It’s believed that she could be a potential threat to Bughead’s relationship.
Toni is a member of the Southside Serpents. She will guide Jughead in that world. The producer described her as being like a female Jughead so she will definitely be trouble. He also said she’s bisexual and could cause trouble for a lot of the characters on the show.
So, that sounds pretty freaking serious. Season 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday night, October 11,2017 at 7pm central time on The CW. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Riverdale Facebook page for more Riverdale news by Clicking Here.
