‘World Of Dance’ August 4, 2020 Semi Finals Part 1 Results Revealed (Recap)

Hey, “World Of Dance” fans. Tonight, August 4, 2020, another new episode of World Of Dance did indeed air with judges: Ne-Yo, Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough. Tonight’s episode featured the semi-final rounds part 1, and 4 acts were sent packing at the end of it. The acts with the top two scores advanced to the finals.

“The Young Cast” kicked off tonight’s performances. Their performance featured a lot of acrobatics, hip hop, isolations and so on and so forth. It was very entertaining.

Afterwards,Derek said, “That was a fantastic performance. It was a perfect way to start the show. Jennifer said, “It was so dynamic. It had so many things going on that I didn’t know where to look. Other than that, it was perfect.” Ne-Yo said, “Certain parts of the choreography were a miss for me. Other than that, it was a great performance.”

Ne-Yo gave The Young Cast a 89 score. Jennifer a 90. Derek a 93 for a total of 90.7.

Next, little nine year old Savannah Manzel hit the stage to do her routine. Her performance featured lots of amazing acrobatics, mad displays of flexibility and some ballet. It was another very entertaining performance.

Afterwards, Jennifer said, “You are a marvel. You are putting a new spin on every move I’ve ever seen.” Derek said, “You are a very impressive 9 year old.” Ne-Yo said, “I’m very proud of you and what you’ve done.”

Ne-Yo gave Savannah a 89 score. Jennifer a 91. Derek a 91 for a total of 90.3.

Jefferson & Adrianita arrived next to deliver their performance. It featured some very impressive acrobatic elements, Salsa, lots of energy. It was just very entertaining to watch.

Afterwards, Ne-Yo said, “You cannot deny the electricity. I still have the issue with my eye being more on a Adrianita a little bit, but that’s my only critique.” Jennifer said, ” I disagree with you, Ne-Yo. I think Jefferson was very in step with Adrianita. The footwork was top notch.” Derek said, “I loved seeing the tricks and being surprised.”

Ne-Yo gave Jefferson & Adrianita a 92 score. Jennifer a 95. Derek a 96 for a total of 94.3! So, they took the lead at this point, and knocked off little Savannah Manzel from the competition. She was still smiling though. She’s adorable.

Next up was Grvmnt. They delivered a very theatrical, acrobatic and hip hop-filled routine.

Afterwards, Derek said, “It was fantastic, but I think you stayed in V formation too long.” Jennifer said, “Some of the steps lacked originality, and that’s my concern for you.” Ne-Yo agreed with Jennifer. He said, “I didn’t really get that wow moment I was looking for.”

Ne-Yo gave Grvmnt a 89 score. Jennifer a 89. Derek a 91 for a total of 89.7. That score was not high enough to be one of the top two scores. So, they were eliminated.

Kurtis Sprung hit the stage next. He delivered a very acrobatic, ballet and theatrical-filled routine. It was extremely entertaining to watch, and it also delivered a very deep message about his relationship with his father when he was growing up.

Afterwards, Ne-Yo said, “I was waiting for one peace or picture, but it kept moving. It kept going.” Derek said, “The lyrics hit me. Your athleticism and technique was great. Thanks for sharing that.” Jennifer said, “I think there was beautiful pictures in there. It was beautiful. It was interpretive. That’s a testament to your artistry.”

Ne-Yo gave Kurtis a 89 score. Jennifer a 92. Derek a 90 for a total of 90.3. That wasn’t high to be a top two score. So, Kurtis was sadly eliminated. However, Derek asked Kurtis if he was free this Summer for a possible job. So, that was interesting.

The last performance of the night was Geometrie Variable. Their performance featured their very unique brand of arm movements mixed with some hip hop. They also did some very cool tricks with an umbrella.

Afterwards, Derek said, “I could not walk out and be that cool.” Jennifer said, “You made it real sexy. I was very impressed with the umbrella. It was very exciting. I really enjoyed this routine.” Ne-Yo said, “It was dope. Everything was so tight and precise.” Derek said, “You checked all the boxes with this. You were chill. You had swag. You were flawless.”

Ne-Yo gave Geometrie Variable a 95 score. Jennifer a 94. Derek a 93 for a total of 94.0. That was good enough to knock out The Young Cast’s second place score. So, The Young Cast was eliminated.

And that was it, guys. That was the show tonight. To recap, Geometrie Variable and Jefferson & Adrianita advanced to the finals with 94.3 and 94.0 scores.

Poor Savannah Manzel, Grvmnt, Kurtis Sprung and The Young Cast were eliminated.

The next, new “World Of Dance” season 4 episode is scheduled to air next Tuesday night, August 11, 2020 at approximately 9 pm central standard time on NBC. It will feature the semi final round part 2. Then on Wednesday night, August 12, 2020, the LIVE finale episode will be shown!
