3 New Pokemon Go Events Are Going On Right Now That Are Giving Players Extra Advantages
Hey, Pokemon Go fans. We hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. We have some great news for you guys. According to the folks over at Gamespot.com , there’s a new Pokemon event that is going on right now that will increase player friendship levels twice as fast along with some other special benefits. This event is being titled, “Friendship Weekend.” It’s only taking place this weekend, and it offers players extra bonuses for sending gifts and trading Pokemon.
For this entire weekend, players’ friendship levels will increase twice as quickly than it usually does. Additionally, the amount of Stardust you need in order to trade Pokemon with friends has been reduced by half. The amount of Candy you’ll receive for each trade has been doubled!
This special friendship event is scheduled to end at approximately 4 pm eastern standard time this Monday, February 11, 2019. Gamespot.com pointed out that there’s also a Pokemon Lunar New Year event that’s currently going on. Players are supposed to have a much higher likelihood of receiving a Lucky Pokemon in trades during this event.
The new Pokemon Lunar New Year event is scheduled to last until this Wednesday, February 13, 2019. The Lunar New Year event will also feature Spoink and other Pokemon that correspond with the Chinese Zodiac like Electabuzz, Dratini, and Mareep appearing more frequently in the wild. Players will have their first chance of encountering a Shiny Spoink.
That’s not all though. Pokemon Go is also currently hosting yet another event called The Meltan event. It’s scheduled to run until March 4, 2019. The Meltan event gives players a chance to find Shiny Meltan each time they open a Mystery Box. In addition to that, the time players need to wait to open the Mystery Box has been reduced by three days!
Lastly, as we previously reported, Pokemon Go is hosting the new February 2019 Community Day event next Saturday, February 16, 2019. It will feature a Swinub, a Ground/Ice Pokemon originally from Gold and Silver. Players will also receive triple the normal amount of Stardust for catching Pokemon during the big February 2019 Community Day event.
