‘G.I. Joe : The Rise Of Cobra’ Movie Totally Rocked The Cashbah
The epic Paramount distributed “G.I. Joe : The Rise Of Cobra” movie finally released this weekend . I just got done watching it,and let me just say, right off the bat, that this is one film that was actually better than the movie trailers it put out.
This freakin flick rocked, and told a good story as well. Sure it had a lot of explosions, fights, and all that good stuff. But what made this movie so unique, is that it explained the reasoning behind it all, very, very well.
A brief synopsis of the film focuses around Duke (Channing Tatum), Ana aka Baroness (Sienna Miller), Ripcord (Marlon Wayans). Duke and Ripcord are assigned to deliver a very dangerous, new weapon that could eat through an entire city unless a “kill” switch is hit to stop them, once deployed.
The very crooked team which consist of the Barones, Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee),and the rest, make numerous attacks on the Joes to still the new weapon from their possession. In the first attack Duke and Ripcord were rescued by the Joes which led to them eventually becoming part of the G.I. Joe Team.
Unfortunately the Barones and Storm Shadow are eventually able to get a hold of the weapon. But there are some other issues besides the obvious that are interwoven into this movie that make it really interesting. Apparently Duke and Ana aka Barones have a history which is explored.
Storm Shadow and G.I. Joe team member “Snake Eyes” (Ray Park) also have a long history which they explored. It gave more of an understanding of what was going on,and they did it really well. Also the main culprit behind all this mass destruction is Ana’s brother The Doctor aka Rex,and both Duke and Ana think he’s dead.
With that being said, the Barones,Storm Shadow, and the rest of their team make numerous attempts to destroy high profile cities which the special Joes team are able to offset .
It leads to one big action thrill ride after another with martial arts fighting, mega gun shooting, super suits that make people run fast, and cars flying all over the place as the Joes try and Stop the Barones and Storm Shadow. The action just never stops.
Finally,it does come to a head, and reveals some amazing twists in the story. Oh, and they also left this bad boy open for a sequel. They have to sequel it. They must.
This is a must see action film with a very good story to back it up. Channing Tatum did a good job playing Duke in the film. Marlon Wayans brought the humor which he did quite well. Everything about this movie was very interesting all the way through.I was never bored. It was just a very fun movie to watch.
Grade : A+
